Medical Office Assistant (MOA) Job Opportunity
Job Description
We are looking for an outgoing, motivated, detail-oriented individual, looking to work in a high-quality, very fast paced and still growing clinic with 10 family physicians and 3 specialists
Prior experience as an MOA is a MUST.
Applicants must have experience working with an EMR system, must be professional & comfortable dealing with patients and answering phones and emails.
This is a Full-Time position
Summary
The Medical Office Assistant is responsible for maintaining patient flow and assuming other responsibilities consistent with the job classification. This role functions autonomously and collaboratively with patients, physicians.
The Medical Receptionist is responsible for overall reception duties including booking appointments, handling charts and diagnostic results and other general administrative duties.
Major Duties and Responsibilities

Greet patients upon arrival, register, confirm all relevant details

Maintain accurate and concise documentation of patient encounters in a timely manner.

Perform basic assessment procedures (e.g., measuring patient weight, height, and blood pressure).

Prepare patients for physical examinations and treatment procedures.

Utilize universal precautions to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Handle and dispose of hazardous and infectious wastes properly according to infection control guidelines.

Maintain physical exam and treatment room set up in good order and keep well stocked.

Be familiar with the operations of office and medical equipment within clinic.

Participate in team building events and quality improvement initiatives.

Ensure comfort and knowledge required to implement Medical Directive(s) as appropriate.
Education: Graduate of a Medical Office Assistant program or equivalent.
Experience:

MUST have experience in primary health care clinic.

Proficiency in use of computer software.

Experience with Telus Practice Solution is an asset.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $16.00 per hour
COVID-19 considerations:
Only patients who require onsite assessments are permitted, as determined by the doctors; they are re-screened prior to entering and roomed immediately. Staff are provided PPE. Roles requiring direct patient contact are limited and rotated daily.
