SOUTH OTTAWA MEDICAL CENTRE
Prescription Renewal
Your physician will prescribe an adequate amount of medication to last until your next scheduled follow-up appointment, which may extend up to one year for long-term medications.

Prescription renewals can only be discussed and processed during a scheduled visit with your physician. If you require a renewal outside of a scheduled appointment, this will be considered an uninsured service and subject to a $25 administrative fee.

Please note that all renewal requests may take up to two weeks to process or longer if your physician is on vacation.

It is your responsibility to schedule an appointment as soon as you receive your last prescription refill. Waiting until you run out of medication is not acceptable. Please refrain from directing any frustration at our staff if you have waited until the last minute and are without medication.

Medications will NOT be renewed by other physicians at this clinic.

In emergency situations, we recommend contacting your pharmacist to extend your prescription until you are able to see your physician.

To prevent delays, additional fees, or gaps in medication, we strongly advise that you plan your prescription needs well in advance.
